Winter Hamilton is a white passing hispanic, queer, emerging artist from North Carolina.
She is currently pursing her BFA in Acting at Catawba College, where she recently performed as La Llorona in the original world premiere of MYTHOS, a show she devised along her fellow actors as well as playwright and peer mentor Michelle Medina. As well as the first staged reading of Sunnyveiw Elementary School Art Show by Rob Smith. Other recent roles include: Bissett in Jekyll and Hyde the Musical, Lucy Steele in Sense and Sensibility, and Ensemble Roles in the plays Sonnets for an Old Century and Dracula.
Experience in accent work, ensemble work, new works processes, and devised theatre makes her a well rounded actress. She also has experience in many areas of technical theatre, her favorite being lighting! Due to her interdisciplinary theatre training she sees theatre as a whole collaborative work. (Check out the design page for more on her technical experience)
When Winter is not studying she is spending time with her friends and her rescue puppy Nala! She is advocating for mental health and women's rights when she can. Her greatest strength is her empathy and that empathy encourages her passion for these topics and more!
Lee Street Theatre Directed by Rod Oden
"The ensemble themselves remind us how important a dedicated supporting cast is to the believability of a world like that in Jekyll & Hyde. Carefully choreographed by Lee St. Theatre veteran David T. Loudermilk, and in perfect lock-step with one another, the ensemble, which includes many Catawba College theater students, helps paint a rich picture of a gothic London rife with gossip, sin, and fear."
